recap kids..
Obviously things have gotten out of control with this blog so let’s see.
The roommates are gone.
Never in my life have I felt so betrayed by 2 people.
Opened our house to a complete stranger, pretty much free of charge.
You might be the type of person that lets roommates share their room for free but it pisses me off.
Sure this new person is sleeping in your bedroom, but they're also using my kitchen and my bathroom and not cleaning.
Anyway, this year has been a very trying disaster and I'm glad these living arrangements are coming to an end.
Ed and Riley are gone and I hope I never have to talk to those two again.
It sucks that I see them at my work all the time, and since we were roommates they have sort of become a part of my life.
Oh well. Them the breaks, I'm pretty good at tolerating bullshit with a smile on my face.
I find a new roommate to take off for the 240$ we were missing in rent.
I know nothing about him yet, but he seems like a cool dude.
I've spent most of this last month at a lake; William's Lake is my favorite place just 15 minutes out of the city.
Basically you take a 30 minute nature hike and get to some gorgeous rocks that you can jump off.
I've had a lot of fun getting out there.
I went to the beach for the first time in Nova Scotia too, very cold, but waves are amazing.
I'm pretty sure the day I got mugged I went to Peggy's Cove and did shrooms.
I should probably elaborate on getting mugged, there isn't much to say except some fucking dickheads came out of nowhere and punched Craig.
Once they pulled out a knife we started running, no point in sticking around for that bullshit.
I haven't walked in the commons by myself in a while or at least since then.
The last time I went to that lake the sunburn was unbelievable, this also happened to be Canada Day and the week that all my voyaging friends were making their return.
A lot of strong hugs on bad sunburn are brutal.
I'm trying to think of key moments of the past month, but it’s kind of hard.
I've been missing Bearly's from time to time lately, only for good reasons though.
One Wednesday there was a crazy dance party at Reflections, I've become a sucker for a good dance party.
Leah came out with me which was lots of fun; she never wants to go out.
We dance partied until 3 in the morning, Frank came down from the rotary to pick us up, what a sweetheart I must say.
I went to Pictou for Lobster carnival, the Currie's opened their home for us to stay at.
I called Alex's parents mom and dad all weekend, they were awesome.
Carnival was definitely a fun weekend, lots of drinking and it’s always fun to be away from the city.
Crown's pizza in Pictou has opened my eyes to what all pizza should taste like.
I had 4 very large pizza corner size slices in 2 days, mouth watering goodness.
The Pictou smell wasn't there for the whole weekend, but the last day, there was definitely something in the air making me feel ill.
It was an awesome weekend for sure.
Laura Peek is back in town, I like seeing her on the street.
She makes me smile, I love that Laura giggle.
I sat around a party on Friday and talked to some dude on the back porch for an hour.
His girlfriend called 3 times from inside the same party, talk about clingy.
If I ever get to that kind of point, I think I'll realize dating just isn't for me.
Saturday I got off work and went to the BBQ of all BBQs.
Shiggins hooked me up with a steak the size of my head and other treats of delicious meaty goodness.
I also consumed the entirety of my quart and went swimming at Chocolate Lake.
I have to say, I feel a little weird in this specific lake, how can the water be that blue? Where are all the bugs and wildlife? These are the kinds of questions that perturb me.
I got to drive Travis' bike home, which was sweet, I love riding bikes and wish I could use the questions 'WANNA GO RIDE BIKES?!' all the time.
After swimming we went to Stage 9 and I had a pretty ridiculous awesome time.
I seem to recall a bunch of ridiculous bits of conversation I had with a lot of people I hadn't seen in a while.
Not having a phone or the internet really cuts down on your communication with people.
Sunday was amazing; I went to Cape Breton with Derrick and Emilie.
It was Derrick's birthday, which he isn't a big fan of celebrating, but I think this was a quiet small 'celebration' that really anyone could enjoy.
Soon Emilie will send me pictures and I'll definitely put them up.
I could try to describe the beauty of the Cabot Trail but I think any description I would make wouldn't do it justice.
I will say the seafood joint we stopped out was magnificent.
13 -14 hours in a car is absolutely mind-blowingly hard but in this case worth it.
This weekend was a pretty amazing time, from start to finish really.
Now Monday was one of those days that happened to be an emotional rollercoaster.
I have never cried in front of people in my entire life, but I definitely rectified that.
I think I scared Matt, he told me him and some close friends are moving away.
I just couldn't handle it, Matt’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.
Long story short, I kind of feel like maybe I'll be hanging out in my livingroom playing the Legend of Zelda until I feel like less of a freak.
The rest of the night was crazy though, I felt a big drive and need to get to the lake.
I couldn't stop, I just wanted to walk and get there in the quickest amount of time.
I spend all the time possible in the water, maximizing the lake experience.
Then the cops showed up and Shiggins was in the water, naked.
It was a hilarious end to a really fucking weird night.
The night went for emotionally crippling disaster to amazing.
I even got to go swinging and sing White Rabbit on the swing set while doing so.
A little early morning 6 30am breakfast at the Ardmore finished things nicely.
That's the point in the night where stuff from the night before started coming back to me.
Did I mention I peed off a roof on Wednesday?
It's been a weird few days.
