Somebody To Love - Queen

Friday I felt like crap, I had to leave work early I felt like so much crap. If I would of stayed in public for another 2 minutes I would of either hung myself off the bread cabinet or thrown cheese at a customer.

I napped a lot and ended up in bed at 10, which was actually good considering I had to work at 7 the next day. I like morning shifts, they go by really fast for some reason, a lot faster than night shifts. I got to leave an hour early, which was awesome but counting Friday and the hour I lost Saturday, thats 5 hours of possible work gone. Anyways, I sat around Doolys getting drunk waiting for Joseah to come drop off his CD for me. He showed up with a box of goodies, it was almost too much. A tshirt, posters, 7 or 8 cds, just a whole whack of treats, I am supremely grateful.

I hopped on the 80, heading towards Mike's to make supper. I made sheppard's pie, which they told me was delicious and I found super amazing also. But, dessert was a disaster, I'm not quite sure what happened, but it didn't turn out the way it should have. Succesful for the most part though. They started calling people with a story that Mike was moving to Calgary to work for pepsi, therefor they were having a party as a send off. I don't know how, but it actually worked. People showed up and bam there was a party brewing. A party like any other, nothing special happened, lots of weed was smoked. Fuck, I miss having my own pot. Someday, when the bills are caught up, me and marijuana shall be reunited again.

Oh wait, something special did happen, Merril put on a Queen DVD because the boy is a fucking genius. Somebody To Love has been on repeat for the last 2 hours. I have him to thank for reminding me about this amazing song, damn Freddie can sing. I passed out on a chair with Dark Side of the Moon in my headphones. I woke up and dragged myself down the hill and home. A few hour long afternoon naps and I was good to go for work.

We are now Monday night, I've worked every day since Thursday and I will work tomorrow. Its my fault, I make little notes next to the schedule asking people to give me shifts on my day offs. I really need to get some money together, I want to visit Moncton this summer, I want to get out of Halifax for a bit. When I got home from work, Savannah was here and I realized I hadnt seen her since last Monday. What the fuck is that? We live together, it should be virtually impossible to not see each other yet it happened. I didn't even know the whole break up story, I knew nothing. Chalk one up for conflicting work schedules.

sheeeeeeeeeeeeeee-it

Wednesday night at Bearlys was just too much. At 3 in the afternoon I decided I was bored and needed to get drunk immediately. I sat around with Heather getting drunk watching M*A*S*H as she made me a skirt with an old Jimi shirt. By like 6 I was a drunk ass, I got on MSN and insanity followed. The internet should be automatically disabled for me after a certain amount of booze. I had a very strange conversation with a friend, which I know was weird, but I can't remember the details. I would love to read that conversation history, I'm pretty sure I'd want to stab myself in the eye afterwards.

New Wave came pre-drinking, so did Cory. There was just so much adventure this time around. I sang Bad Moon Rising with 2 other girls, and I slowed danced with Cory to some song, it was a mix of gay prom dancing and swing dancing, hilarious anyways. We took off in a cab towards Bedford, Bedford is way the fuck out there, most exhausting cab ride ever. Atleast the cabbie had some Daft Punk. Once we got to Mike's I was offered some dexedrine. We stayed up until like 7 30 - 8 ish just doing nothing but being awake. Oh and smoking pot.

Fantastic Wednesday.

The bus back to the city and the walk from that bus to my house = brutal.

I love the bulk barn.

Saturday the 21st - Most amazing call of my entire life; slaving away at Subway when I get the "Hey its Stephen, were going to Bulk Barn, want to come?".. Heck yes. Eben and Stephen came to get me after work, where we proceeded to Tarek's for some delicious food, those garlic noodles, could give hard-ons. The Bulk Barn, Value Village madness insued afterwards. I stole something because I am a very bad person, who never takes anything. Oh the power of not having any money.

I spent the rest of the night in and out of naps trying to become a human being again. I've been putting way too many hours at Subway, I don't sleep anymore, which isn't a huge deal, but now I actually do physcial activity. Its becoming very intense, falling asleep on the bus has never happened to me before.

Sunday the 23nd - Did the all day working thing at a different Subway this time. They were super slow during the day so they got all of our work done. 8 hours of nothing is painful. I watched Resident Evil a few times, damn I love zombies, that about sums up Sunday.

Monday the 23rd - Work work work. I found out that one of the guys at work is the drummer for Inertia. Weird. People at work who know about monctonlocals, dun dun dunnnnnnn. I also got word of company on Saturday, Mr. Joseah shall be bringing me some cds and other goodies when he makes a trip to Halifax. Oh the internet and the power of fun it has. Saturday is also all about the Sheppard's Pie.

Dream

Before I discuss Saturday and Sunday, I must talk about last night's dream. I've been reading this book called "The Last Days of Earth" and it got itself stuck in my dreams.

It started out by half the world's population just disapearing out of their clothes, those were going to be saved by "rapture" or "salvation" whatever you want to call it. And the rest of us, were left to walk the earth asking ourselves what would happen next. In this dream, Jessica Alba was my best friend and she had all of her Dark Angel powers. Anyways, all the food in the word was basically wiped out by the remaining folks. Huge ants and mice flooded the earth and were crawling all over me and everybody all in the house we were staying in. When we ran outside there was dog sized mice, just running everywheres. All of a sudden huge meteor shows started raining down and I think out of pure terror, I managed to wake myself up. There was no effing way I was going back to sleep.

Don't you hate it when you are utterly convinced that your dreams are reality?

Breakfast of champions.

Wednesday the 18th - WOOOOOOOO, woke up early to go meet the lovely Julia at the bus station. On the way there I had one of those, seeing someone you know in the middle of a cross walk situation, what exactly are you supposed to do in this situation? I just kept walking, I was running a little late to begin with. Stephen met us down there and we headed over to the Henry House for some lunch. I had half a plate of nachos with Stephen and some fries. It was delicious, I think I could become a nacho fiend. After lunch we headed over to Heather's for some chilling. We had to go to Leah's but we decided to walk in the public gardens. I'd never seen the gorgeousness that is this spot. All the beautiful birds and flowers, I could see myself just sittng in there and being emo. Yup. Went over to Leah's and to look at my new free armchairs. Three free armchairs, I love it. This place is going to eventually shape up to be a pretty good looking apartment, complete with seating. Pre-drinking began, good time were happening. There was quite a few people there this week.
New Wave didn't come to pre-drinking but apologized 100 times during the night. Holly was at Bearlys which also just blew my mind, it was great seeing her except for when the discussion rolled around to Savannah and Doolys. Magically, I don't know how it was done, maybe the woo of pizza, but Mike didn't return to Bedford. Julia, Mike and I headed over to pizza corner and then back to my place. Stephen came to visit around 4 in the morning, and we watched some funny internet videos.

Thursday the 19th - Woke up around 10 30, Mike and Julia were still over. Julia decided to go watch the new Star Wars and while we headed down to the Applebarrel for breakfast. Did a little browsing at Taz Records and then it was time to head off to work for the both of us. After work I missed the bus and decided to head over to the Peel Pub. My manager and some co-workers combined bought me 20 shots in an hour. I was incoherent by the time I left, and decided to head over to Subway to call my cab. My friend Danny was sitting there and could read my intoxication the minute I walked in the door. Hilarious.

Friday the 20th - Savannah came home with a friend from work, she was nice. She enjoys North of America, so you must be pretty alright. Went to work at 7, came home at 1. Met some more of Savannah's friends, who were pretty drunk. I passed out relatively early, that being 3 in the morning.

5.18.2005

No Bread.

Saturday the 14th - I had to go work at a different Subway today. Which seriously was the worst event of my entire life. I don't know how the hell those people had their shit organized but I'll tell you one thing, the system is not working folks. They had zero bread unthawed so ofcourse we ran out. What Subway runs out of fucking BREAD?! They had me there with one other kid who had never closed the store before. I work at a 24 hour Subway, so its never came up, we were like 2 idiots trying to figure out stuff. Man, worst night ever.

Sunday the 15th - Went to work again, told my boss to never ever send me to another Subway, and then shortly there after accepted a shift at the same one. Damn bills and their need to be payed.

Monday the 16th - More of the work thang, nothing exciting happens on days I go to work for the most part. I wake up mid afternoon, go to work until 12 at night and then come home to internet whore it up. I did however get a song dedicated to me on Spectrum Obscure, oh how I love Jerome and Weights & Measures.

Tuesday the 17th - Woke up late for work, couldn't call in because the phone was being a little bastard. Finally made it, day shift is pure exhausting, I was glad when 7 oclock rolled around. I headed over to Jared's to hang out with Heather. We just sat around the living room, smoking and talking. When Jared arrived he started whipping up this delicious chicken dinner with rice. I was just looking for company and ended up with a complete meal. Jeff and his girlfriend came over for the dinner as well. It was good times. Thanks Jared.

ZOOOOOOOOOMBIE

Wednesday the 11th. - I dashed over to Leah's to try a pretty dress, which of course didn't fit. We decided to take a walk down to Frenchy's on Barrington. After what seeemed like a 2 hour walk we finally made it. Nothing for me dress wise, Leah picked up a few books on the other hand. I got home fairly late, around 7 30 ish, manage to inhale some eggs and went to meet Mike. Pre-drinking began, not a whole lot of people this week but a good time. New Wave guy was drunk and it was the last weekend for the girlfriend to be in town. I succesfully aquired both their emails. Cory and the rest of Mike's roommates came out too. Cory sang Ghostbuster and they decided to leave early to go to Bedford. Whew. Two Quebec guys bought me the weirdest shot ever, but yay for being able to use the french skills. It doesnt come up much in Halifax, unless Julia happens to be around. Anyways, after someone *cough* pussed out and left, the line up was unreal. Jared sang Please Don't Go Girl by New Kids On The Block.. There was some Hooked On A Feeling, Bust A Move, Living On A Prayer (Brian almost had a heartattack), Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Superstition, The Joker, Faith by George Micheals, Sweet Home Alabama, and Betty Davis Eyes.
Brian walked me home through the ghetto and I found 2 lawn chairs outside in the dumpster. Yup, one crazy Wednesday.

Thursday the 12th - Worked the Subway magic, I was a tab bit late, I swear that alarm clock has something against me. Then I came home to bed.

Friday the 13th - I woke up moderately early and went to meet Leah. I absolutely had to find something for this party. ZOMBIE/PROM baby! I met Leah by the commons and we started searching the second hand shops for the perfect dress. I found one, YAY, and we started the long walk home. Liquor was bought and all that good stuff. When we got to her house a little dress modifying was in order; make the straps smaller and more clevage. A few touches of cheesy flowers, up do hair and make up - voila all ready to get shit started. Some lovely girls from 'Nish gave me some speed. Oh you little drug angels you. I was all over that party, it was almost a bit much. I think I had atleast one random conversation with everybody there, I would just go right up and introduce myself. I hung out with Cory and Mike all night long. It was one hell of a good time. At 5 in the morning, realizing I was the only person still awake and alive, I headed home on foot. Nothing better than the cold chilly morning air to sober you up a bit. But not quite, stayed up until about 9 doing nothing but wishing the speed would go away.

The whole week, I need to fucking catch up.

Screw this individual posting, if I don't catch up I'll just stop posting. It's driving me nuts.

Saturday - After I regained consciousness I hung out with the brother as much as possible. He wasn't feeling too healthy himself. Drinking is like the devil and my best friend all wrapped in one good time followed by bad. Around 8 I called Eric, my mother, my father and Janice, the fear of not having a telephone or internet makes you want to soak up as much communication as possible, with the most important people I know that don't live in this city. Followed by this we all went down to the Econony Shoe Shop for nachos, those nachos are just incredible. One day I think I shall starve myself and have the whole plate. Yup its happening. I left the gang and headed down to Stage 9 for the Dog Day cd release. Whew, going to shows by yourself is a challenge. I sat in the smoking room for a bit, trying not to look directly at strangers and then went upstairs for some Death by Nostalgia. I was looking frantically for Julia and was beginning to lose hope. The Sycamores were fucking awesome as pure usual and then all of a sudden the beautiful Julia was right infront of me. Woot! From then on I saw everybody, maybe I just go to shows way too early. Julia, Heather, Jared, Beardo and myself all decided to head over to Jared's for some more hanging out. The weather was absolutely ridiculous, when we got to Jared's the rain had soaked my jacket leaving 2 wet spots directly on top of both tits. Classy. I ended up crashing on the couch due to crappy weather and a shitty neighborhood.

Sunday - Woke up, walked home in the dreadful wind. Hung with the brother a bit, made eggs and headed to work. I organized things at work, because thats how I roll and I love cleaning things if it isn't my actual stuff. I resized every single picture from the weekend out of lack of internet boredom. End of day.

Monday - Consulted the telephone people about maybe giving them 80$ to reconnect my internet. And voi-fucking-la, I am reconnected baby. Went to work, did the sub thing, I love making subs. Everybody else who works there would rather do prep work, I, on the other hand, am inlove with making subs. Besides, I fucking love talking to customers, so many people to meet and have random interesting sub related conversations. The bus ride home was so long, based on the fact that I knew the internet would be back. Rob called at 1 in a drunken state, asking to come over. It was hilarious, oh drunk Rob. I spent an ungodly amount of time checking locals and talking to every person imaginable on MSN. I went to bed around 7 to moans of Rob trying to regain some form of life from Savannah's bedroom.

Tuesday - After my 3 hour nap, I say nap because 3 hours is not considered a night of sleep. Sarah called and it was time for moving filming time. I dragged myself out of my bed and headed down to NSCC. Shooting a movie is a fun, but a lot of fucking hard work. I got free food which is always a plus, oh man, a lemon filled doughnut, I almost died. Shooting the movie went on all day, Savannah arrived and I felt 100% more comfortable. We did our thing, wrestled for a knife and a few more shots and scenes. I had to head to work at 8. 8-12, worst shift ever, what kind of day is that? It just kills the 4 best hours of anyone's day.

PEI Wonders

The two PEI girls showed up at about 3 in the afternoon. Those girls are rock solid, I love them to pieces.

First up on experience Halifax, was ofcourse a spectacular night at Bearlys. There was an INSANE amount of people at Bearlys this week. To list them off; Leah, Mike, Jared, Heather, Brian, Gabrielle, Kelley, Jonathan S, Jonathan, Jeff, Beardo, Alfred, Matt, Rob, Chris, Savannah, the bunny eared guy, who I think is named Dave, maybe and moi.. Am I forgetting anyone? Because that would be terrible. This was like a week ago from when I'm actually posting. I don't remember what was sang at all, but I know it was good. I do however the walk home and my fury at "DJ something something" posting over the Dog Day show. Therefor I ripped down all these DJ posters to reveal the beauty of the Dog Day poster. Oh drunk Lindsay, you crazy bitch. I spent the rest of the night talking about nothing with Gabrielle, Mike and Kelley.

The next morning I woke up to the sound of water, which I needed desperately. I went to work and then met up with the girls at the Death From Above show. The music was great, but the crowd was way too intense to actually enjoy the music. Oh well, I saw Heather, Jared, Alfred, Beardo and Eben. I'm so glad I know people in this city now, even if its just for a quick hello.

Friday night, I worked until 12 and was met outside by Gabrielle, Kelly, Jonathan and Dave. We all hopped on the 80 on the longest fucking bus ride to Bedford. The party was full swing by the time we got there. Pure madness was happening. I got pretty drunk and by 4 was just incoherently drunk. Highlights from the party include; Brian getting written on while passed out, new shubbery infront of Mike's house, watching Evil Dead 2, and finishing off the night at 7 in the morning by watching Owl TV. I hopped on the bus at 9 and arrived at my place still hammered.

My brother was in town for the weekend and they spent Friday with Savannah. They got totally hammered and went to the Palace. When I did get home from the party, my brother was puking in the bathroom, which he continued to do until 3 in the afternoon. I never got to say goodbye to my beautiful PEI girls.

Furniture

I spent most of Sunday night fixing my Simpson table. I got it all painted and cut out. I was supposed to be working on an exam, but I procrastinate like that. I worked on that Simpson table until 7 in the morning. Until finally it was just time to get to sleep. I did mention to get a little exam in, but not much. Arts and crafts over exams, oh the decisions we make.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Monday during the day was spent trying to wrap up that fucking exam. I have to stop procrastinating. I get stressed out for no reason because I'm just too stupid to get stuff done before it is ABSOLUTELY last minute. After the exam mess, at night we headed out all over town to look for discarded furniture. At first it was looking pretty bleak, eventually we found a couch. But after 45 minutes of trying unsuccesfully to try and move it down the street, we gave up. On the walk back home however, I did manage to pick up a pretty good looking chair. I also replied to a post on "gives us a ride/couch" board. I figured why not, it'll make the week interesting. I'm excited about meeting these girls.

Tuesday was the worst day of my entire life. After watching a few shows on the computer, a little message came up saying "a local network cable has been disconnected". I wasn't really concerned at first, just called up the brother. After trying to figure it out with him for a while, it was discovered that our internet service had been disconnected. I just lost it, I was really pissed off for a long time. I was told I wouldn't lose the internet until the 10th, but apperently not true. The day was mostly spent doing nothing. Savannah did however get the job a Minacs which is fabulous. We played chess all afternoon, and watched Sin City. I called Jordan, that guy is hilarious, I wish he lived on this side of the country damnit.

I got Terry to do all my internet things, give Gabrielle my phone number and other minor things I needed to get done. Terry rocks. I'm excited about tomorrow and meeting these 2 girls. Should be an interesting day to say the least.

Choke

The Smallman tour was CRAZY. Both of the shows were amazing, all the bands had me jumping in the pit and losing it (SOBER). The all-ages was a little more tame, but not by much. I didn't see Tylor there, I looked around every chance I got but I wasnt moving from the front of the stage. I had my front row spot from Brazil straight to Choke. I had a good time, I wish everybody wasn't such jerkfaces and would of came to both shows. Pfff, fucking alcoholics. Standing by myself is fucking awful, there isnt really much room for conversations at shows but those minutes inbetween the sets, holy out of place. I'm sort of used to going to shows by myself, but this was Choke. It was just different. The not drinking at all didn't help either.

BUUUUUUUUUUUT. The music more than made up for it though. I'll get into the music portion of the blog towards the end. First... THE DRAMA. Drunk people don't seem to get the concept that once you've reached the front of the stage, there is no wheres to go. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all about the mosh pits, give 'er good. But what's the point of just lying on top of each other and crushing the people closest to the stage? You can't even mosh because you can't move.

I got hit in the head with a beer bottle about halfway through Choke's set, and got my earrings ripped out of my ears, so that was enough for me. I scrambled my way out of the mass of bodies and went to sit by the big screen to keep watching. When all of a sudden I see Savannah's boyfriend put her over his shoulders and jump on stage towards the band room. I got really scared and ran all the way there, its fun to push people out of the way when you really don't give a fuck. Concern put fire in my ass.

It would seem that the crushing got so intense, that Savannah broke a rib or two, couldn't breathe and blacked out. And since everybody is a drunk idiot they just left her there until Rob finally noticed she wasn't moving anymore. Whew. After explaining to the bouncers that she was my roommate. I went backstage and she was lying in the band room catching her breath. Nick the lead singer of Brazil kept us company and well entertained, what a great guy, very drunk too. I got to meet all the bands, they were all pretty drunk and concerned about Savannah. It was hilarious, Savannah couldn't talk because it hurt too much, so I did most of it.

I have to say Choke's lead singer has an amazing beard, its spectacular. Thank god for being sober and coherent, well me, not the bands. They were like smashing bottles and glasses in the garbage, and drinking their faces off. I was like.. "so this is the excitement of the band room eh?". It was the lead singer of The Reason's birthday too, everybody kept buying rounds of shots for the band.

ALL AROUND CRAZY.

Anyways, drama aside, what a fantastic show. Brazil was awesome, tight and really on the ball. I love any band that can incorporate piano/keyboard whatever you want to call it. Ghost of Modern Man blew me away at the all-ages so I bought the cd. When it came time for the bar show, the guitarist who sold me the cd dedicated a song to me (awww). The Reason was spectacular as usual, I knew what to expect and was not disapointed.

Choke... *sigh* they played Recoil which made my fucking night. Both times. I don't even know what to say anymore, all the adjectives I know I used up. They blew me away, talk about a band that still knows what they're doing after 11 years. Soooooooooo, I left there with a few posters, my health, and 2 new cds (Ghost of Modern Man and FOREWORD!!, I think I'm more excited about the FOREWORD, then the other one, even though I've heard it too many times) What more could you ask for?

I wish I was, rock it out in Moncton. One last thing, since when do bars not give out water? I was really pissed off, I just payed 10$ to get in here and I can't get a fucking glass of water? The words "Can I speak to someone in charge" changed their minds though. I wasnt going to start drinking at 11 oclock, besides, between drinking and merch, I choose merch.

Crazy fucking night.
